Entrepreneur and business manager, with a background in engineering, banking and finance. George’s diverse scope of business consulting services range from financial forecasting, strategic planning and cost control, to procurement management, human resource management and administration.
George holds a Masters in Engineering (Imperial College London), and a Masters in Science in Construction Economics and Management (University College London - UCL). With a passion for business and finance, he has completed an Entrepreneurship Development Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and attended several prestigious seminars hosted by leading financial institutions such as the World Bank, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch. In 2004 he started working as a Financial Analyst in Equity Derivatives at UBS Investment Bank
In 2006 he joined G. P. Zachariades Construction Group in Bahrain, as a Business Director primarily responsible for the group’s general management and financial administration. During his 12 years there, George embedded a new centralised procurement division to enhance efficiencies relating to cost control, value engineering and economies of scale, initiated the implementation of ISO Quality Management System, and was responsible for supervising various supply chain operations including manufacturing and logistics. In 2010, he founded SmartSource Construction Solutions in Bahrain, a trading company specialising in bespoke building materials and sustainable (“green”) construction technologies. George is now currently working as a business consultant and financial advisor to technical companies and property developers while continuing to manage his own businesses as an experienced entrepreneur.
